Welcome On Board THE WAVE!
Getting around the island is easy!

Wave buses are still running.  The NRTA is being proactive in keeping our riders and employees as safe as possible during the Coronavirus situation by providing additional cleanings and regularly disinfecting all surfaces on all fixed-route vehicles and at our facilities.
Per Emergency Order #3 of the Town of Nantucket all individuals living within the Town and County of Nantucket are ordered to stay at their place of residence. The order stresses maintaining Social Distancing of at least 6 feet away from another person when outside your residence. The NRTA will continue to operate fixed route service, as public transit is deemed an essential function.  Please use the Wave buses for essential activities only as defined in Emergency Order #3.
Other ways to protect yourself is to wash your hands regularly with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer, cover coughs and sneezes into a sleeve or elbow, not your hands, regularly cleaning high touch surfaces and not shaking hands – keep 6 feet away from another person, avoid touching your face, eyes and mouths.

The Wave year round fixed route bus service on the Mid Island Loop, Miacomet Loop and Sconset via Old South Road Route (primarily service Old South Road and Nobadeer Farm Road with several daily trips to Sconset).  Buses do not operate Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and on Easter.

Summer service is provided to Madaket and Sconset (along three different routes) Surfside and Jetties beaches, Nantucket Memorial Airport, downtown Nantucket and the Mid Island Area. Dates and times vary depending on the route.

The NRTA is being proactive in keeping our riders and employees as safe as possible during the Coronavirus situation by providing additional cleanings and regularly disinfecting all surfaces on all fixed-route, and demand response vehicles and NRTA facilities.

The best way to keep yourself protected is to wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your face, eyes and mouths, and staying home when feeling sick.
